24 minutes, one spot
You can film a thousand tricks for Instagram. You can also film one, for real.
The Quartersnacks readers' poll, a reference point for skate culture, crowned an unusual entry at the end of 2025: twenty-four minutes filmed on a single Toronto spot, showing the falls, the attempts, the process. Not a polished best-of. The work.
The same idea keeps coming back: the fatigue of the disposable feed, of clips you forget mid-scroll. People are rediscovering the part that makes you feel something, the part you hold onto. The word of the year, slop, names exactly what we no longer want.
Less noise, more bearing
The same year, a whole part held up on so-called basic tricks, boardslide, fifty-fifty, set down on New York's toughest ground. The proof: restraint, well placed, hits harder than the pile-on.
That's our line, word for word. Force isn't shouted. Do less, but right. A paper fanzine is the physical antidote to the scroll: you hold it, you keep it, you come back to it.
